A tear that’s shattered
To a million shards,
Each painful, and discrete.

Sprinkle, daintily, upon the face,
Of each child should it meet.
Slipping slithery, upon the skin,
Sinking ever lower.
Agonizing pain, cannot be vocalized,
I feel I have no power.
It’s not my place.
Why do I believe him..
If all he says isn’t real?
Why do I believe him..
If no one else can feel..
All the pain in his voice..
All the tears upon his cheeks..
All the stumble in his walk,
His need for quick embrace.

Perhaps they feel it..
Perhaps they’re not as weak,
As the one I am, have always been,
Should this pain, I always keep?
Nothing can be said,
there is only too much to be said..
I miss you daddy,
Before you ever left.
