The Broken Heart of the Beast |
The Carousel
I feel my life spinning around me
A demented carousel ride
One minute it rides so smooth
Up and down the painted pony prances
Wind glides softly through my hair
Little children laugh in delight
Yet quick as a flash!
The ride speeds up
The pony jerks violently under me
My hair whips out across my face
I can not heard the children’s laughter
All other noises are drowned out
A whirl wind envelops me
I try to cry out
But no one hears me
I can not even hear me
