The Broken Heart of the Beast |
January Wind
January Wind When the days go by and by; Melt into each other. And Monday turns to Friday, without lifting up your head. When time seems to drag, on and on and on.Stars just seem to wheel on by, so far and high above the sky. When you cry to time, “Is it over yet,This weariness, that pulls me to my knees? It slashes me, and bashes me,Then finally cuts my throat.I feel as if I’m falling, without a hope to live.” When every day is cold, you feel so lonely and forgotten.Stuck in a January Wind: left out to face the world alone. When time seems to drag, on and on and on.Stars just seem to wheel on by, so far and high beyond the sky. When you cry to Time, “Is it over yet,This weariness, that pulls me to my knees. It slashes me, and bashes me.Then finally cuts my throat.I feel as if I’m falling, without a hope to live.” Suddenly you’re not alone, the mighty wind dies down. You open up your eyes, so see another’s hope. They hold you close and promise that you’ll never again be alone. They’ll hold you and carry you, till you find your feet again. And never again will you faceThe January Wind alone.
