Late it is at nightSitting straight upon my bedContacts still in my eyesShoes left on untied Sitting and thinkingPondering your actionsChecking mineWondering and wondering Interpreting the past weekPlanning for the nextQuestioning my own sanityReady to give up Those who know say you loveThey convince me every dayI know you love me as a friendI suspect you love me more than that Heart so heavy with self-doubtTears forming in my eyesSilent stream down my cheeksEyes sliding in and out of focus I care for you with all my heartThough I hardly admit it to myselfScared to love another I amBut willing to try again with you Imagining days of you and IDays I know you think of tooI shake when I think it possibleA thought both happy and frightening I have cherished another one beforeWas betrayed and wounded deeply thenConvinced I was to never love anotherStill scared that I might find happiness Terrified I am to have found loveIt shakes me to my frameCan never imagine love againWithout the fear of losing once more For reasons unknown to meI find myself close to youA safe haven and harborOne who would never hurt me Maybe that is why I love youYour ways are kind and amiableNever to harm another intentionallyAnd would never dream of hurting me A heart-warming sense of pride Light-hearted outlook on life in generalA pleasant face and friendly smileAnd a signature laugh above all others But one can not wait foreverOn one who never speaks his mindMy heart can not wait much longerDo not know how much more I can take Tell me what you want to sayLet me hear the words from youLet all my lonesome days end hereSet a smile upon our faces Show me what love truly isHow it is possible for average mortalsAnd may I learn to love freelyTo never fear from broken heart Hold me in a warm embraceWhisper sweetly in my earDismiss all fears instilled upon my heartAnd may all days be finally blessed
