I Am Not There
For I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am diamonds that glisten on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush.
I am the swift, but uplifting rush
Of butterflies in flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die.
2007
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am diamonds that glisten on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush.
I am the swift, but uplifting rush
Of butterflies in flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die.

Thank you. My grandfather passed away in April of 2007 after a long battle with cancer. |
