i think about what we had
i think about what we said
the things we did together
and the steps that we took

you wanted to be with me
i never had to ask
you'd tell me out of the blue
make me happy til i cried

but you never really knew
what went through me over the phone
i wish i could have told you
instead of feeling that way alone

i wish i could explain what happened
i wish you'd give me a chance
but you're going your own way
they have you in a trance

but you're worth the wait
