No Longer There

I look through the glass that keeps us from touching.

I look into those beautiful blue eyes.

Your eyes are the only things I can recognize you by.

Then I hear your voice, so upset and hurt.

I want to turn and run away, but I don't.

I watch you looking at me,

Trying to see what's happening to me.

I used to see myself in your eyes.

Now I can't see anything.

Your voice brings me pain I have never felt.

Your voice is full of hatred and guilt.

I try to find who you really are, deep inside of you.

But you always hide and shut me out.
