The Trip

Views (30) Lyric Created on 3-10-08 Flag

The clouds are like soft cotton candy,
Floating lazily along with the dusk.
They have traveled a long way,
Almost as far as the lonely ship below.

The deep blue waves reflect the setting sun,
While the horizon contrasts with pinks, blues, and golds.
The sailing ship went out on an adventure,
Like Columbus so long ago.

The large square sails are pulled by the wind,
Farther and farther and closer to home.
The air smells so different from the air back at home,
It’s thick filled with ocean mist and salt.

The ship floats as the crew goes on with their jobs,
Unlike all those others back in London.
The trip is almost over,
And the adventure is done.
