Thunderstorms

Roaring across the sky
It leaves its mam
Lightening rules the clouds
Thunder rocks the sky
The thunder is my broken heart
The ever dreaded life
Leaving a torn and tattered love in it's wake
You ask if I'm okay
I say yea everything's fine
Though if you look in my eyes you'll see a storm
A storm raging through and through
It's tearing me apart
I reflect on my past and ask myself
'Whatever happened to the girl who loved?'
As always the storm answers
'The girl who loved was torn apart by a
Divorce
She started shutting everyone out
Letting no one in and only seeing that she was alone
She thought that everyone else was pushing her away
When it was her
She pushed them away with actions and words
The storm rages on
Bouncing across the sky, mountains, and valleys
It never purrs as a kitten
But rages like a hurricane
Calling the seas
The mountains
The planes
The rivers
And the deserts
Her heart raged like a flooding river
That wouldn't be easily tamed
She always hoped for better
Hoped for a day when she'd be happy
When she'd be the best at something
And be proud of it
Now her storm is raging full out
And she laughs because to her
It is now purring as a kitten
She is used to the rage
Used to the thunder and pain
Now she feels nothing
The blood that flows from her wrists and cuts
That's nothing compared to the hurt and pain she experiences daily
No it's nothing
Now all hope is lost she is retreating
The storm that she once laughed at is now in mock to her
She screams for help
She screams for a hero
Though so far all she's received it pain
Hurt
Grief
She adds to it with each cut
But she doesn't control that
It's something that controls her
Something that keeps her at bay
Now when someone looks at her
They see a raging storm
And it all started when her life fell apart
From a simple
Divorce
