Making the Best of This Life

I haven't said it in so long baby.

Those last three words that are used to easily.

I haven't said it, and meant it in so long darling.

But you have given me the hope,

you have given me the strength, to carry on in life.

In this high life society, everyone's thriving on self-image.

Never giving a second glance at those that are stuck.

Until now I thought I was alone in this world.

But now I've met you.

I'm tired of living under my past mistakes.

Tired of looking through a smoky glass.

I'm trying to divine what's in my way.

But now I see, yea now I see.

The only thing in my way is me.

So now I can sleep easy at night,

knowing there is someone who cares.

Oh now I can see the light in me.

To make the bet of this life.

The veil has been lifted,

the curtains have been raised.

My hearts no longer broken, 

my soul is now healing.

You are my strength my elixir of life.

I think of you and I keep on going.

Because of you I'm making the best of this life.

mcihellejane It is wonderful to have someone to lift us up when we get down. I like the hope that is found in your words. I especially like the line "the only thing in my way is me".....there is a lot of truth in that line that applies to each and every one of us!
