Alive in the Boneyard

Alive in the Boneyard

Avoiding the inevitable
I sing a song to each tiny carving
This dissection I sing to you.
Falling into old patterns, like the warmth of my future grave, next to yours. Into the empty, I call my brain, darkened by hate, everything evacuated, vacated on my time, taking years with them. Not a question of getting older, but getting deader as the minutes pass by, as each slice is made. Should I suck that one? Does it truly matter? Swallow the void, deep inside, my spirit dissects that as well. All to feed off of, I feed off myself, like I used to feed off you. Can barely remember the taste, the memory replaced with bitter truth. And I swallow hard. Tears reveal, but not by choice. Drown in the void, in the slicing-up of emptiness and lonliness, and hopelessness. Fused with blood that cascades into my grave, next to you.
