The First Snowfall
Like the first snowfall of winter
Depression settles over me
Little by little
Until it’s great weight
Lies heavily on my chest
Slowly
The tears flow
As if the blanket of snow
Is squeezing then from by body
I’m told my troubles will melt given time
But I know better
There’s always a bit of winter
In everything I see
