The Easy Way Out

Views (175) Anger Created on 5-5-07 Flag

It might have been the cry of incompletion,

But cries dont set themselves so useless thus.

The bottom of the door was eight feet up

With no stair or ladder at its base.

A fool might break his neck to take this way,

But they werent walking in the air that day.

They were on the ground contemplating doors.

No one would be worse off to say the words

That no divinity had placed that point

Of exit at so awkward of a height,

But man had done as always sure to do:

To place an exit or an entrance where

Only a solid wall was meant to be.

A tarp that served as window for the wall

Mocked tide to swell or whither with the wind.

The swell was set to push fools out the door;

A suck was set to keep the same fools in.

Where the fools were wont to go was for the wind.

They mostly chose to take an exit where

There should have only been a wall before.

The mysteries of Egypt are so few

Compared to why we build so many doors.

neomud tell your brother his style (although perhaps a bit shaky) is impeccable. His imagery is superb, including the undercurrents of imagery. The impied ideas wrap and tie quite nicely.

ausjo Beautiful. It had an air of modern Shakespeare whilst readin it. Loved it.
