ledge of life |
A great price to pay
A great price to pay
Can you tell me the day
Can you tell me the year
As I awoke thats all I could hear
Thats the night my life fell apart
The night I made a choice
that wasn't that smart
I went out for a night of fun
I had to get out I had to run
I opened the window
My mother didn't know
I climbed out
My adrenalin pumping
My little heart thumping
I got in his car
We drove and drove
Not know where we were going
Just knowing we had to get far
It was raining hard
The rodes were slick
Another car came at us too quick
I knew there was nothing we could do
It hit us and our little car flew
I hit my head pretty hard
Because I ran away now I'm forever scared
I could hear the sirens blaring
It's gonna be okay
Help is on the way
Thats what he kept saying
I heard a door slam shut
I awoke and all I could think was what?
Then I heard a lady say
Can you tell me the year
Can you tell me the day
I knew the answer
But I couldn't seem to speak
I could hear a doctor say to another
Her vital signs are looking bleak
I saw a needle go in to my child like skin
Then the doors opened
I was pushed in to a bright room
Where I would fall to my doom
They did all they could
to Make me whole again
But life was something my body couldn't abstain
I could hear someone say
She wont make it to see another day
What a great price to pay
All because I felt like
I had to runaway
Can you tell me the day
Can you tell me the year
As I awoke thats all I could hear
Thats the night my life fell apart
The night I made a choice
that wasn't that smart
I went out for a night of fun
