An Empty Bed

I lay my head down to sleep
So tired and worn I dare not speak

My chest so bare and cold
Oh how I wish I had someone to hold

Someone to keep me warm at night
Someone I would never let out of sight

But here I lie in an empty bed
Tossing and turning, not a word to be said

I place my teddy on my chest
So maybe my heart would lay down and rest
