Felo de se

An endless war against myself,

I hate you, I scream,

I want to be free, be one, from me,

End this ceaseless tyranny.

To escape this malevolent world so tormenting,

Unfair and miserable.

To escape this evil flesh that holds me here,

And tortures me with my fears.

To run from the world uncaring,

Into a perfect fantasy,

To rest at peace in the nonjudgmental deep,

Indifferent to my atrocity.

May I not ascend to heaven,

Nor descend to hell,

May I sleep perpetually,

In a dark and peaceful sleep,

With my love to keep me company,

Together in the deep.

Where there are no reflective surfaces,

Where the sun may never shine,

And we will dance in dark dreams for eons,

Until the end of time.
